1ST OUTLOOK WOLF CUBS

HOWLER #3

RE: 2005 OCTOBER ACTIVITIES

Dear Wolf Cubs and Parents,

Monday, October 17 : The Cub meeting will include the use of paints to create decorations which are intended to be used at the Haunted House exhibit for Halloween. All Cubs are asked to bring a paint shirt. Once there is a locker assigned for our use, we will be able to store them at the school. [duration = 1 hour]

Wednesday, October 19 (17:00 hr): The Cubs are asked to meet at the “Haunted House/Fright Factory” building at 222 Franklin Street (the former Pat’s Assortment store) in order to deliver notification flyers for the Scout Bottle Drive. [duration = 1 to 1.5 hours]

Thursday, October 20 (16:00 hr): There may be an opportunity for all sections to view the potato harvest operation of Spudwyck Farms at their potato storage shed in Broderick. Meet at the school bus stop at the elementary school for car pooling and/or caravan formation. Parents/guardians are expected to “sign-in” their wolf cubs prior to this outdoor activity. The Cubs shall use the “one-hand-on-the-group-rope” method of ensuring safety around the potato handling equipment (the alternate will be the “one-hand-in-the-hand-of-a-parent” technique).

This event is TENTATIVE. [duration = 1 to 1.5 hours]

Saturday, October 22 (10:00 hr): All sections are to meet at Variety Place to take part in the Fall Bottle Drive Blitz. Dress in uniforms is expected. Parents... there can never be too many pickup trucks for this event. [duration = 2 hours]

Monday, October 24 (19:30 hr): Regular evening meeting. We will complete crafts from the previous week and carve pumpkins. Paint shirts or older clothes are recommended.

Wednesday, October 26: Final day for popcorn sales. All orders and monies are to be submitted to Dale Cole on or before this date!

Saturday and Sunday, October 29 and 30: The Haunted House/Fright Factory will be open to the public for viewing. Cubs are invited to visit the attraction and see their crafts and pumpkins on display.

Monday, October 31 (19:30 hr): Regular meeting. We will make it a Halloween Party. Keep your costumes on and save room for extra treats. Any parents who are able to contribute home made treats, please advise one of the leaders beforehand. Thank you.
