NOTICE TO ALL 1ST OUTLOOK WOLF CUBS RE: NEXT REGULAR MEETING

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 26, 2005
WILL BEGIN EARLY AT 4:30 PM
FOR A RIVER HIKE AND HOTDOG SUPPER Meet at the SkytrailBridge (east bank). You will load backpacks for a 1.5 km hike across the bridge and down to the River sandbar along the west bank were you will practice campfire building. This will be followed by a hotdog supper with toasted marshmallows for dessert. You will then hike 2.5 km
back across the bridge and onto the LCBI for the regular Monday meeting. Parents are invited to join in all or a part of the hike (or even to just wave from the bridge). The meeting will conclude at 8:30 pm. Each cub is asked to read pages 92 thru 96 in “The Cub Book” (handbook) about campfires BEFORE attending this event. As well, the following gear is required:
1. An empty backpack to help carry supplies.
2. Beverage(s) for hiking and for supper.
3. Sturdy footwear (for climbing the riverbank).
4. Jacket or sweater for evening wear. Note: Inclement weather will cancel the outdoor portion of this event. Please notify Ken Achtymichuk if you will not be able to attend the hike. Parents/guardians are expected to “sign-in” their wolf cubs prior to this outdoor activity. |
