April 11, 2005 Dear Scouts and Parents: The end of our Scout year is
fast approaching. This letter will serve to outline what we will be doing during the month of April. Tonite, we will be visiting the Outlook Museum. While there we will be assisting the museum in setting-up a scavenger hunt that youth visiting the museum will be able to take part in. On Sat., April 16, we will be traveling to Saskatoon. We will be leaving the D & E Convenience Store in Outlook at 1:00 pm that day. We will be traveling to the Lawson
Heights Mall in Saskatoon to view an astrology display set-up by the Saskatoon Chapter of the Royal Canadian Astronomical Society. April 16 is International Astronomy Day. From there, we will be swimming at the Lawson Heights Recreation Centre Wave Pool from 4:00-6:00 pm. The swimming fees will be paid by our scout group from our fundraising activities. After that we will be having supper, everyone should bring money to buy their own supper. After supper, we will
be traveling to Beaver Creek Conservation Area on Highway #219. There we will be hiking on a trail and celebrating the last day of National Wildlife Week. At dusk, the Saskatoon astronomers will be setting-up their telescopes at Beaver Creek for public viewing. After viewing the skies through the telescopes, we will be returning to Outlook at around 10:30 pm. Extra parent drivers are needed for this trip.
We will not be having a meeting on Mon., April 18 due to our trip to Saskatoon. On Sat., April 23, we will be participating in the Scout bottle drive of Outlook with all the other sections. We will meet at the SARCAN Recycling Centre at 10:00. Scouts should wear their uniforms. Youth will be divided into groups to canvas the town. Extra parent drivers are needed.
On Mon., April 25, we will have our regular meeting at the Legion Hall at 7:00 p.m. If anyone has any questions, please contact our scout leaders. Gary Provencher Cam Sawatzky Larry Murray |
