Sept. 20, 2004 Dear Scouts and Parents: Welcome to another year of scouting in Outlook. We welcome back the scouts from last year and the cuts who
have moved up as well as any new scouts who have moved to the area. We are in the process of planning another interesting and fun-filled year of activities. Tonight was our first regular meeting and this letter will serve to outline what we’ll be doing in the next month or so. Our meetings are held every Monday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Scout house at 315 Selkirk Street. Scouts are expected to bring $1.00 to each meeting to pay their dues. The dues
collected are used to fund crafts and special entertainment activities. Scouts are also expected to provide their uniform shirt and sash which are to be worn for special ceremonies and public events. If Scouts do not have these, please call a leader in regard to purchasing them. A neckerchief will be provided along with a T-shirt which can be worn at regular meetings. We will be asking parents for help driving and running activities throughout the year. Next
Monday, Sept. 27, we will be starting our annual popcorn sales drive. We will be meeting at the OutlookElementary School at 6:00 pm. At the school, we will be providing the scouts with popcorn sales record sheets and assigning them an area of Outlook to canvas. We will be taking orders of popcorn and people can pay for their order at that time or when the popcorn arrives in late October. We can use parents to assist with driving that evening. We will be
having a fall camp at Coldwell Recreation Site from Fri., Oct. 1-Sun., Oct 3. Cost is $5.00 per participant. Scouts interested in going should let their leaders know ASAP. We will not be having a regular meeting on Mon., Oct. 4 due to fall camp being held the previous weekend. On Sat., Oct. 16, we will be conducting our Fall Bottle Drive starting at 10:00 am at the SARCAN Depot in Outlook. We will be canvassing the town of Outlook for recyclable
containers as well as recycling items. We will need extra parent drivers for this event. Our regular meetings will resume on Mon., Oct. 18 and Mon., Oct 25. The leaders for this year and their phone numbers are:
