Monday, October 25, 2004 Dear Scouts and Parents: We have completed our
first month of scouts. We hope everyone is enjoying the program so far. Thanks to parents who assisted with our popcorn sales and bottle drive. All popcorn orders should be back into the leaders by now. Popcorn will be arriving around the end of the month for distribution. We are planning a trip to Saskatoon on Saturday, October 30. We plan on meeting at the D&E Convenience Store at 1:00 pm that day. From there, we will be traveling to the Canadian
Light Source Synchotron on the U of S campus in the afternoon. The Synchotron is one of Canada’s largest scientific projects and is not officially open. It is similar to a large microscope and is capable of gathering light millions of times more powerful than the light from the sun in order to research various matter. From the Synchotron, we will be going to the Fun Factory located at 1633C Quebec Ave. arriving at around 5:00 p.m. At that Fun Factory we will be having
supper and participating in fun rooms - including video games and laser tag. Scouts will be provided with some tokens for the video games but should bring extra money of their own if they wish. The tokens are $0.25 each or 50 for $10.00. Scouts may also want to bring some snacks or bring extra money to buy some with. All other costs will be paid for. If any parents are interested in driving this day, please let one of the leaders know. We will not be having a meeting
on Monday November 1 due to our trip to Saskatoon. We will be having a regular meeting on Monday November 8. We will also be taking part in the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Outlook on Thursday November 11, starting at 10:40 am at the Legion Hall. Scouts should be in full uniform. We will be purchasing some sashes from the Scout shop and giving them out to the new scouts who require them. The sashes are around $10.00 each and we will need to get reimbursed from
the parents. All scouts should have uniform shirts – if not, let us know and we can order some also. We will also be providing the new scouts with scout handbooks. Our regular meetings will continue on Monday November 15, 22 and 29th. That’s all for now. If anyone has any questions, please call a scout leader. Leaders are: Gary Provencher, Cam Sawatzky and Larry Murray. Thank you. |
